    Prices Throughout the Year?

    Hey guys,
when are the prices of ball pythons the cheapest? I am trying to get started in breeding and trying to pick up the best snakes that I can find. I am interested in spider morphs while I think I have found that I really like calico stuff too. However, when are the babies the cheapest?
    Thanks,
    Brenton

I have never really noticed a rise and drop in snake prices depending on the time of the year. When a price drops they usually stay at that lower price. So I really don't think there is a better time of year to buy. Sometimes a breeder with limited space might drop the prices to make room for upcoming clutches. You may have luck at an expo and do some bargaining with cash.

Prices decline as the year goes on, but the better quality animals will usually have been picked over early and you're left with the more average animals. Breeders who care about quality will also usually stick to their prices and not follow the race to the bottom to see who can price stuff cheapest, so not all prices will fall on everyones price lists. I'm not faulting anyone for shopping around to see what the going rate is for a certain morph or combo, but the cheapest price isn't everything, there's a lot to be said for paying a little more for a much better example of the same thing. Make sure you're shopping around for quality, not just dollar signs.

    Re: Prices Throughout the Year?

That makes sense. At least there will be more options to choose from. So let me rephrase it. When is the best time to buy the best quality of the morphs?
