Transition from mouse to rat, NP @ all

Been feeing him mice FT mainly, a few live here and there. He eats every 4-5 days and is quiet aggressive when it comes to food. Never rejects a meal. I took him out of his hide, threw the rat pup in the enclosure and then placed him back in. As soon as the rat came within striking distance,Kocur struck like a beast, chocked the crap out of this thing devoured his meal and went right back in the hide. The transition from mouse to rat was nothing different ten feeding him like usual. He took it within seconds. I love this guy. Re are some pics.

TY . He is awesome,I love the little guy. This dude would eat every day as well, lol. He is a absolute pig and has an appetite like his Dad. 4--5 days is good,he's growing and eating. I look foward to every feeding session,he's great to watch.

I had trouble with my new baby, black pastel tried everything and wanted nothing to do with FT mice in any way. He ate a live fuzzy this past Monday...so I picked him up a rat today, placed it in the tank with him,he layed next to it,lol..then went in his hide. Went back to the store and bought 2 mouse fuzzies,as soon as I put one mouse fuzzy in,he struck and ate...so he's going to be a problem to switch over to rats and FT,but atleast he's feeding

    Congrats!

3 of my sub-adult BP have difficulty switching from LIVE mice to F/T rat, so I have to feed a live mice each time before carefully putting the rat into their mouth just when they're almost done eating the previous mice, this takes up a fairly large amount of my time, what a pain in the ass! I'm glad you don't have to go through that process

I know how you feel. My little lesser girl came from her breeder on mice. I gave her a rat pup last week and she took it no problems. It was such a relief lol. Congrats!
