has anyone combined noncompatible ghost lines

so lets say you have two adult ghost bps, and you breed them only to find out the two lines were not compatible, and you get a bunch of 100% dbl hets.... has anyone bred those offspring back to each other and created a "super" ghost (actually just two lines of hypo in one snake)? i'm wondering this now that I have seen the "7 dollar ghost" on WOBP, and wondering about its compatibility with other hypo stuff.

    Nothing I have heard of

If you look in the thread about the 7D hypo, the person says they have already proved its compatibility to the normal hypo line, which includes orange yellow ect.

however you could still get a gcr or g1 hypo which are supposedly not compatible, if you wanna take on the project.

I remember many years ago someone out on the east coast was working with something they were calling a 'green ghost' which was supposedly not compatible with other ghost lines. However the animals themselves didn't look all that ghost like to me. They did look different from 'normal' but they didn't really look hypomelanistic.

I have read about a few people proving out green ghosts to be compatible, but maybe there are two morphs being called the same thing or mis-identified lines. I email corey woods, I noticed in the 7 dollar stuff he claimed to have a green ghost that wasn't compatible. Still waiting on an answer back.

one time i have seen double-hets from two different ghost lines for sale, a breeder obviously tried out the compatibility and the lines were incompatible.

if you are lucky, you might find some for sale somewhere. and you might find breeders that have two different lines in their collection that are proven out to be incompatible.

interesting project, so far i have not heared of anyone doing a double-recessive double ghost. what has been done and is being done is the axanthic ghost = "true ghost". so, yes, interesting.

Re: has anyone combined noncompatible ghost lines

I wouldn't want to be the person trying to figure out which hatchlings were ghost type 1, type 2 or both type one and 2. Unless the incompatible lines compliment each other and there is a significant change in the amount of melanin expression I would think breeding out would be the only way to declare a snake to have 2 copies of both genes.
Maybe someone has tried it and the results were not stellar or perhaps due to it being a problematic double recessive combo to identify none have yet tried it beyond testing for compatibility with other lines.

thats probarbly it. why invest the effort to do a full blown double recessive project that is likely to not be very visual or different or new?

maybe people that hit incompatible hypo lines just use them as normal hets, and for a double recessive project they pick something stunning and highly visual, like lightning pied or albino genetic stripe or hypo clown.
