You can make you own ID's
I generally use:
YEAR OF BIRTH (YY) MORPH IN ALPHA ORDER (MMMMMM...) GENDER #
ie. [2012] [Butter/Spider] [Female] [the second one i have hatched that year]: 12BUSPF02

Re: Anyone use HerperPRO?
I organize my hatchlings by year, clutch #, morph, sex and number.
So 2013 Clutch 1 Butter male #1 reads 13C1_BTR_M1.
Now the number at the end is in corellation to morph and sex for the season not the clutch.
This year as an example I produced 2 male Butters in Clutch #1
13C1_BTR_M1 and 13C1_BTR_M2.
Also had a male Butter in Clutch #5
13C5_BTR_M3
That's just an example of how I organize and label my little ones.
Also I use Herper Pro and think it's great except for the European date format Year/Month/Day as opposed to the American standard Month/Day/Year.

Its however you want it to go. For my records each snake has 4 pages. First is information (species, I.D. number, sex, morph, date of birth, date of purchase, weight when aquired, seller info, and a note section), second is feeding, shedding and weight, third is breeding records (which I havent been able to use yet), and fourth is medical records. So all my I.D. number consists of is species, sex, number. So ball python male 1 is BPM01.
For me gender comes first so if I hatched out 2 males and 2 females I would have BPM02, BPM03, BPF02, and BPF03. The way I do it I would start the babies of either sex at number 2 since the sire and dam would have the numbers 1 for their gender.

Neat program, just too much stuff that is useless to me. I track meal & dates. Then I track shed dates & weight after shed. I use cards that I have made and keep in a small mini binder. Works best that way and when I sell the snake the card goes with the snake so the owner has everything.
