Can someone explain this strange thing? (Leatherface; Cinny Mojave Pinstripe Pastel)

I came across this combo a while ago and since then, i am wondering what the heck is going on.

Cinnamon, Mojave, Pastel and Pinstripe are all well-known genes, how can the 4-gene combination look so crazy?

Is this for real, or is it a mistake in morph identification (maybe super cinnamon?) ? Did WOBP or the breeder screw up in identification, or is this genetically really what it says it is? i mean, its patternless and just weird. I really wonder if this can be reliably produced, for example by breeding super cinnamon super pastel to jigsaw.

The first ive seen of it, but id 100% say thats right. Look pewter blast, all its missing is the mojave http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/pewter-blast/ and look chainsaw, theres your stripe, just missing the pastel to wash everything out http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/chainsaw/ or savanna mojave, just missing the pin to knock out the rest of the pattern http://www.worldofballpythons.com/mo...vannah-mojave/

your reply is really very helpful!

that gives me some confidence that these can be reliably produced and that its real. i love the chainsaw, (never seen that one before), and i hate that there is no advanced search on WOBP anymore, WOBP took a dive in quality when they abandoned advanced search and the counter for morphs shown.

I just need to add a little rant, because the chainsaw right now cannot be found on WOBP by searching for cinnamon OR mojave OR pinstripe OR jigsaw, unless you know that you have to search for the string "chainsaw" beforehand. You can only find it by doing the right pairings in the calculator. Its really hidden away, because WOBP hates transparency when it comes to finding such things. Its time for some other, better website to take over, WOBP is seriously lacking in functionality.

I found it in a few seconds by going to http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs and simply doing a text search for "chainsaw". Click on it and the description pops up. Easy-peasy.

With web sites, as with anything else, you get what you pay for. If you want a more functional web site, feel free to crack open your wallet, pay the site hosting fees, and for the requirements, design, systems analysis and development, testing, and deployment efforts.

when searching for a cinnamon mojave pinstripe, you FIRST need to know that its called chainsaw. of course you find it when you search for chainsaw. The problem is that it does not show up when you search for pinstripe, or mojave, or cinnamon, or jigsaw, because this function (while available earlier) has been removed without replacement. This requires users to either hack around and put this combo into the genetic calculator and breed it to a normal, or to be psychic and "guess" without beforehand knowledge that this triple-gene combo shall be called "chainsaw".

Traffic and webspace are not expensive anymore. if traffic and webspace get expensive because demand goes up, then its time to party because you will find financial supporters and will recoup it with advertising. All it takes is programming skills. Believe me, a friend of mine is a programmer and started his first company at age 24 and now at age 30 he has two companies and 18 employees. programming skills and 2000 dollars is what it takes to bring down WOBP right now, they removed the most useful functions and users are frustrated because the most obvious functions (searching for all morphs that contain a certain gene, displaying the amount of hits) are GONE. WOBP does not have a good website right now, they failed their users, all they have is a big adress book and connections, but their online service sucks. Its ripe for takeover. Serious attempts to do so will either succeed, or force WOBP to get its act together in a timely manner and restore functionality. Either way, the community wins.

The problem isn't with the search function, it's with the morph's description on the website. Chainsaw is just called chainsaw, it doesn't have any additional description. That's why the search won't pick it up when entering the base morphs. If instead you were searching for "bumble bee", you could find it by typing in "pastel", because "bumble bee" has the additional description of "pastel spider", as well as "bee". You can see these additional descriptions to the right of the morph's name in that search list.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

A more intelligent person might combine all four genes in the genetic calculator and click on the special named ones that aren't "cinnamon pinstripe" or the like. A little foot work never hurt anyone.

To me without looking at anything else this is very obvious as to the genes at play. The cinny is visible in the darker tones of the body, the pastel is visible in the yellows and oranges, the mojave is very obvious in the stripe on the back which is caused by the pinstripe. Why question what is so in your face as to what it is?

Also why complain about something you are not going to fix. If you have an issue with it either do it yourself, message the owner of the site, or get over it... Pretty simple there...

I think everyone is misunderstanding what he was saying about wobp. When you search, for example mojave, you dont get every gene combination containing mojave. Likely because their database search function uses the morph name, Not what morphs it contains like it USED to.
