you get them from the links provided by annarose. Although you could also just look for a temp gun on amazon.com. i use HDE temp guns. There are other good brands as well.
Annarose is right to an extent about UTH and ambient temperatures. It will do little to help ambient temps in a glass enclosure with a screen top, however for a real snake cage it should do just fine. I keep all my snakes in plastic cages without screen tops, and the UTH creates a hotspot that tapers off throughout the enclosure, creating a nice gradient.
