Legless Lizard help (Russian I believe)

I'm about to adopt a legless lizard from my local small reptile store and I'm in need of some help regarding the husbandry of the animal. This particular one was sold by this pet store and then returned when their owners moved and I really don't want to know what they did to the poor thing but he's gone from being friendly to being really aggressive and spooked - he's stiff all the time, hisses at people all the time, et cetera. Since he's like that, I'm worried he won't be adopted by anyone else, so I decided I had to have him. Even if he never becomes as friendly as he apparently used to be, I still think the poor thing deserves a nice home (and he will as I have an absolutely huge tank he is going to adore).

However it would appear that even the employees at this pet store don't know much about legless lizards (most of them won't even take him out since he freaks them out, mostly due to how he moves along with the aggression) and they have him on forest substrate. They gave me a little bit of information, but it's not much. It does mention they do best with sand though so if that's true I imagine that's not making him any more comfortable. I also know he can eat crickets, mealworms, and pinkies and the information sheet said daytime temps should be 75-85ish I believe? Obviously enough though I not only need these confirmed, but I need way more information than this if I want to take care of him properly.

I've googled legless lizard pet care yesterday and then his specific species (Russian) today, but couldn't find anything related to their husbandry, just stuff about them in the wild. Mind you, Google seems to hate me, although that's hardly going to deter me from trying to do some more research. Suffice to say though, I would really appreciate any help any of you could provide, even the most basic of stuff. After all, such a unique and utterly gorgeous animal definitely deserves a good life.

    Thank you in advance!

I don't have any first hand experience, but found these online, everything I have read says that Russians are also referred to as European Glass as well so try researching both, hope this helps:
