    Talking Hello from South California!

    Hey everyone,

My name is Misha and I'm pretty new to ball pythons. I've had my oldest one for about a year now so I'm still learning. Since I've bought my first ball python, I've bought two more. So it's slowly turning into an addiction. I'm definitely interested in breeding for fun. If I make money in the process, great but not the biggest concern. I'm also going to be building a decent size (5x2x2) terrarium so if anyone has any tips with that, it would be greatly appreciated!

Anyways, I'm excited to be part of this forum and hopefully I'll not only learn things here but also contribute as well.

    Hello!
    Welcome to the forum.

    I'm up in NorCal.

Hope to see some of your snakes in the future.
As for terrarium building, I suggest building it out of XPVC. But it might be better just to purchase one from Animal Plastics to save you the hassle. Their cages are very reasonably priced and perfect for maintaining heat and humidity.

Thanks to everyone for a warm welcome!

Nikki, in regards to the terrarium, I appreciate the info but I'm probably build one myself out of melamine. It should be a fun project. My only concern is the heating for the terrarium. Don't know whether to use heat lamps or something else.

For heating, I suggest using a radiant heat panel and possibly heat tape. They don't kill humidity like a heat lamp will.
