double checking if I did the right thing
Ok posted some pics of my bp earlier in the bp pictures well a couple people said it was thin I didn't think it was but I am inexperienced did some reading and read if there side caves in at any time they are. Well it was out in about and thought i'd look, well I seen it sides was going in bad as it moved like it was turning when it wasn't well i went crazy seeing that then tried feeding it a 2nd mouse it did take it and eat. I was told it feed on 1 fuzzy mice every Sunday. The first time i seen it I thought 1 was too small as i read the item was suppose to be as big as it's thickest part of the body this was not but said maybe they knew what they was talking about.
did i mess up feeding it another food item so soon?

I think I understand what you're asking, no it's fine that you fed him. Fuzzy mice are awfully small even for a hatchling. The prey = thick part of the body rule is generally a good one.

Get a kitchen scale that can measure weight in grams, they're about $20 at WalMart or Target. Weigh your baby and give a feeder that's 10-15% of its body weight. Once it's an adult you can cut the feeder size back to 10%. Many people also feed every 5 days until the snake gets to around 500 grams, then they feed once a week.

I looked at the pictures in your other thread, and yes, that snake is really thin. Fuzzy mice are way too small for it as well. I agree with bcr229; get a kitchen scale at Walmart so you can weigh your snake, and feed 10-15% out its body weight every 5 days.

Did it leave a visible bulge in his stomach, if not I'd go a bit bigger. 9grams is still on the smaller side

I fed mine rat pups right from the start and I bought him after 3 feedings. When I went to get one this weekend the store was out of rats so they offered me a mouse. I said make it equivalent size of a rat pup and it was pretty much a full grown mouse. Mine has been eating every 5-7 days depending on when I can get to the pet store and has been growing steadily.

Don't worry if you fed another prey item. My BP is my little garbage disposal and she will eat as many times as I offer her food. Two prey items won't hurt them as long as you aren't trying to feed TWO appropriately sized mice/rats.
If you are in a bind and can only find smaller mice, double it up. It won't do any harm. Just make sure it gets the prey item about mid body before trying again. Maybe 10 mins or so.
