Unexpected Eggs from my Piebald !? Advice please?

I have 2 piebalds (m+F) that I have owned for about 4 years now, I cage them together for 3 days a few times a month for a few years now. I was never really following the breeding preparation steps, not desperate to breed them or anything. My female piebald is sitting at 1660 grams, never produced before. She's been caged alone for the last 2 weeks, I been feeding weekly, she ate a rat this thursday that just past , 4 days ago. Yesterday I found one egg and a turd, I lifted the egg to determine it was a egg, covered in aspen, has a red vein on one side, but is small egg sized , slimy soft like a boiled egg out of its shell, light tint between yellow and white. placed it back down and waited for more. Today i find a second egg more yellowish on the opposite side of tank with another turd. What do i do, Im assuming these are infertile or slugs, Tank temp on hot side is 91, pretty sure the eggs are no good, would be awesome if they were good. Snake never showed signs, and how long does it take for her to lay all her eggs, she is not acting defensive, almost treating the eggs as if they are another turd. Any advice would be great, im not even rushing to get a incubator as i assume the eggs are bad

Thanks in advance, I am no pro, just a hobbyist and am researching right now like crazy lol

Sounds like she is just passing slugs, some pics of the eggs would help to determine if they are infertile or not. You said they had yellowish tint then they are more than likely slugs but pics would just be confirmation. If she was going to lay a full viable clutch she would have laid them all within a few hours, if shes dropping 1 egg/slug a day they are probably no good and she is just passing them with her feces.
Also you say your not 'desperate' to breed them, were you actually trying to breed them?

My advice would be not to pair them if your not going to prepare for them producing eggs.
When doing any type of breeding you need to have what you need beforehand, not waiting till the eggs show up then trying to scramble.
Stop pairing them and do your research, get your stuff together then go back and actively try to breed them.

My question being, why put them together and try to breed them if you weren't even ready to deal with eggs?

Re: Unexpected Eggs from my Piebald !? Advice please?

I did buy both of them to produce, just wasnt expecting it to be in october, My goal is to have them produce this winter, but was expecting signs, locking, growth , wrapping around the bowl etc. , to give me the heads up, to order my stuff, addition tank to add to my boaphile stack etc. I used the word desperate because its not a money thing. I would love for these two to produce and experience the whole enjoyment of the whole process. She still looks as if she may have some more eggs in her, but im not gonna keep my hopes up of any good eggs coming out. Will she be able to breed come winter time or is it a once a year type of thing. I havent done any research on my ball pythons in over 4 years so im rusty. Just been feeding and maintaining their up keep.

Re: Unexpected Eggs from my Piebald !? Advice please?

the egg from yesterday completely darkened up and the 2nd one is beginning too, I candled with a tiny led flashlight for curiosity/ learning, nothing but an empty slug. Ill take this as the wake up call and prepare tremendously for the next. I didnt think the male I have had it in him, he's a very shy guy.
Time to refresh on everything. Any good forums on here you guys recommend or follow. I will be doing my browsing, just asking thanks again in advance.

There's a BP Breeding section right here. Lots of good info on it.

BPs can breed year round, interestingly. It all depends on the setup and the snakes.

Just because she passed two slugs doesn't mean all her eggs are bad. she could very well have a belly full of good eggs due sometime soon. I would get everything you need to for them together just in case.

Yes they can breed year round but if shes dropping eggs now, whether slugs or not, she'll be done for this season/year
