Heh.. I agree with Tunechi, my parents never bought me an animal for a gift... That said, I think it's OK for the temp to be a little too low, just now too high...That's what you need to watch for (in terms of adjusting the thermostat).

    Good luck!

Just keep monitoring temps, but it sounds like you've got a good start, honestly! Just don't let your temps get too high, but you've got them in a good spot now, it sounds like. Congrats on your new addition!

Huge relief The way threads with such a title usually go would be more like:

Congratulations Your mom bought you a spider ball python

If unsure about the heating, just bump up your room temperature a bit and switch off the heating. That will buy you some time and keep the snake safe while you properly set up the heating. If your mom got you a surprise present BP, better not burn it

Breathe, relax, and then use punctuation. These little things help a lot to get sentences structured. I dont understand the part about bricks. Also, do you have a temp gun? i mean, infrared thermometer?

Congrats on your new kiddo! It's awesome that your mom bought the snake for you. Mine keeps telling me that I shouldn't get more snakes, but seeing how I'm on my own /shrug. Post a pic when you can!
