i didnt want things getting out of hand, i just dont like spider, and other people like it, and i dont mind. Can we leave it at that? I really dont like spider and other people really do like the gene.
And yes at the moment im saving up but do not currently own any snakes, is that clear? So what? I still know what i know.

I voted firefly.
Bumblebees may look nice as hatchlings, but they brown out like single gene pastels. Some more or less than others. I've seen bumblebees so dark that they look like single gene spiders.
Fireflies get better with age in my personal opinion. Sure, some of the lower quality ones may dull out as adults, but as a whole, they're bad ass looking adults since fire is a lightening and enhancer gene. They make other single genes pop.
But Kodieh has a good solution. A fire spider will allow you to hatch both a firefly and bumble bee on top of fire bumblebees when bred to your pastel. And fire bumblebees generally don't brown out like a regular bumblebee.

Re: bumblebee or firefly?
It would depend on the morphology and genetics. Personally I prefer Bee's, however I have seen some awesome looking Fire's.
Sorry, I have a non answer...need more info.

Not this bee. 2 years old. And he's not even my best one!

He is quite nice.
Unfortunately he isn't the norm though. I've only seen one other bumblebee that hasn't browned out as an adult and that belongs to Doolittle.
Otherwise, I've seen ugly brown adult bees.
Most adults I've seen look like this or worse:
