    best bet would be to buy a broken one of the same model, that is broken in the same way. a burned out one should still have the part you are missing right? check online auction sites for that, people just sell broken valuable electronics stuff there. when noone buys it they throw it out, some people really put up anything. make a working one out of two broken ones; keep spare parts that are still good.

    that might be worth a shot, otherwise, i dont think it makes sense to invest too much time and effort.

    if you cannot get a spare part and cannot fix it without a spare part, what are you going to do except to make one working unit out of two broken ones?
