I too have thought of doing just that, like a show piece herp. Assuming a 10 gallon is not too large for your computer desk, I can think of many herps that'd be fine in there. And if they're display animals I can give you a list: (snakes aren't good display herps)

Green anoles (female)
gold and house geckos
leopard gecko
swifts
