Smile New to the forum and new to balls

Hello! I have been lurking here for a while but thought I should introduce myself. My name is Dana and I love herps. I have had Rhacs for years but recently got intrigued by BP's. I wanted to give you all a run through of how my cages are set up too just to be sure I have all my ducks in a row

I have all my BP's in 20L tanks (I know people LOOOOVE sterilite tubs, but I love natural set-ups) they all have UTH (zoo-meds) stuck to the bottoms of their tanks with a thermostat probe between the glass and the heater (I'm using thermostats made for hydroponics). My ambient temps are 75 on the cool side, 85 on the warm side- with a hot spot on the floor that doesn't exceed 91 (There's a temp probe in the tank on the glass over the UTH but under the soil). My humidity hovers around 60% though I do let it dry out and then get moist again. My screen tops are covered with foil tape, except where the ceramic heat bulb sits on it. I have matching hides on both ends with a water bowl in the middle. Hmmmm what else.... I guess that's it except for pictures!

Boots! My first BP a pastel female (according to the person I bought her from).

Nagini, female Butter (maybe butter pastel? I can't tell the difference)

And last but not least!!! Hazard my big spinnerblast boy

    Thanks guys!!

I actually just picked up the spinner & the butter this week. Quick question, how long should I let them settle before a feeding? I'm nervous about feeding since my pastel has always been a great eater.

Everyone kinda says different things about when to feed a new snake when I got mine he was in shed... but I fed the day after his shed, and he ate (so 5 days after getting him).
I think the *general* consensus is to wait a week for them to settle in without disruptions, but then again, everyone has different opinions.

But I would say about a week.

Maybe someone else with more experience will chime in!

Thanks! I'm worried about them going on a hunger strike since their previous owner fed live and I feed f/t

I personally don't have experience switching (as luckily mine was switched to f/t by the breeder already), but I can bet you will have some troubles. Not to be discouraging!! Everything I've read about switching (especially on this forum) has included someone having issues. But I think that's completely normal and to be expected! If you search some forums on here some people have really good advice and suggestions about how to switch - all kinds of tips and tricks.

    Good luck, and be patient!
