Buying Balls - What's the best route?

I am in the market for a few animals and really find the process of searching for them laborious. I'm curious what kind of system other people use when they're looking for something specific? Some thoughts for discussion:

-I feel like a lot of the big breeders do not have up to date websites or only update the 5k+ snakes. Do you email them and ask randomly?

-Fauna/Kingsnake - what % of all available snakes do you think make it there?

-How do you identify geographically near to you breeders to find out what's available?

-How do you navigate the hoards of Facebook pages?

This isn't a "where to find a snake" thread, I'm just curious about what your PROCESS is for trying to track down something specific.

I decide what i want. I see who has the hottest examples of it. Then i ask them where they got it from.

1/ I have many times, thatīs how I found a few animals including my Hypo Enchi female, the breeder had some advertised but none that caught my eyes so I asked if they had what I was looking for (spotless) and they did.

2/ I go on both site on a regular basis just looking to see if something catches my eye, even if I am not in the market for anything

3/ That is not my priority to be honest my priority is to find the perfect animal regardless of the location.

4/ I see animals on Facebook but would not do business with people there unless it was someone I already knew or knew their reputation. Lots of new people there I never heard of and seems like the new ground for scammers.

What I also do I letting my friends know what I maybe looking for so if they spot it they will let me know (and it works I found animals like that too)
