The bottom is around 88, one of the middle ones just clocked in at 92.5, and the top one is 90, so i don't know what that's about. In the other rack it's just sporadic hot and cool spots all over the place, one will measure at 93 and two inches away it's 88, which makes no sense since the herpstat is set at 91 on that one.

I had such inconsistent temp fluctuations with FlexWatt, I went out and purchased another temp gun to test the results. Because for some reason I thought my $70.00 IR gun was the problem, not the $15.00 piece of FlexWatt. And guess what? It was the heat tape.

    I'm DONE with FlexWatt!!!

I'm glad I read this. I was thinking of eventually having my husband build me a rack. Now I will just get the THG to start with and not even bother looking at Flexwatt.

The random hot spot one is less than a week old as well! I guess it's a good thing I decided to test run it first and I don't NEED that rack running at the moment. But still pretty irritating. I guess I'll be ordering new tape.

I've posted this in a few threads now.....

One is built FOR the herp industry and one isn't. That should make the decision easy right there.

Yeah I built a new rack and after a lot of reading used the THG and I couldn't be more pleased with it. All my shelves have a nice consistent heat that I am happy with. And hopefully my snakes are also. lol
That and I really like the rivet design for hooking up the wires. Its very low profile compared to what I have seen from flexwatt.
