    Advise on my Spider Female

I have a 1375g Female spider that I picked up about a month ago. The problem is feeding her. Her wobble doesn't seem noticeable at all really, but when I attempt to feed her, her strike is way off. Normally she will end up striking and hitting the side of the bin and then just curl up and hide. Previous owner says she does better on f/t. I have tried live and f/t. I get a strong feeding response from her she just misses, stuns herself and looses interest (i think). Any ideas on how to help her eat?

Not a lot you can do besides feed what she catches best and be patient. I have a 1200g Spider Mojave who wobbles at feeding time. Funny thing is he misses frozen food that's sitting still and he almost never misses live rats. He's a hunter at heart.

Keep her on F/T if that is what she is use to and just leave it in there overnight.

If she strikes then balls up put the dead rat on her and wiggle it. She will think she is killing it and it is trying to wiggle free and will coil it better. After it is "dead" she should eat it. Try to feed her when she is in her hide so the opening of the hide directs her to the rat. Then just wiggle its face into the hide. Alternatively, you could loose the wiggle all together and just leave it sit in the opening of the hide. I have one snake that likes his food good and dead before he eats it. Lazy bum does not like to kill or squeeze, just slither over and eat.

If she doesn't eat it after you've left it in there overnight, you could try feeding in a small bin, one where there's enough room for her to eat, but not enough room to strike.

I agree it also possible some of the thermal pits have stuck skin in them (watch for the next shed) I had a snake that had 3 layers of stuck shed in the pits a long time ago.
