 Confused about the hide
Apparently He thinks that you should hide on tip of the hide insted of in it

Confused about the hide
That's okay if they sit on top of it  they will pretty much do whatever they want lol. I have one that will sit on top of his warm hide, inside it, behind it, around it. And sometimes he even uses the plants vines as a cool "hide" he will climb up on the vines and just sit there I think he might even sleep up there sometimes. He's just weird and likes to do whatever. So don't worry he/she will go inside if he/she wants to.

Some of my snakes prefer being wedged between their hide and the back of their tub instead of inside. They actually alternate day to day. My fire honeybee took a few months to even figure out what a hide box was.

I'm guessing that this snake is in a rack? It's squashing itself between the shelf and the top of it's hide because it feels more secure. My guess is that your hide is too small.
