I joined this site not long ago after purchasing my first ball python and shortly following got three more. My snakes are awesome. I've got them in a tank with separated chambers right now and plan on building them a nice rack with more spacious tubs just as soon as my flexwatt arrives in the mail(so grateful for all the advice on DIY stuff here on the forum).
The trouble is that after years of teetering on the edge of taking on reptile husbandry(I grew up around animals and have owned so many different species over the years but always warm blooded with the exception of fish), I think that I've opened the flood gates. I find myself getting all doe eyed over turtles and beardies; going weak in the knees for water dragons and fish. But worst of all, I discovered something which I'm just not sure I want to be without. As I innocently perused sites that aided my research in the variety of wonderful creatures that are on the market, I saw something that just made my heart stop.
Danube crested newts...
Never before have I laid eyes on such a majestic looking little creature. The little girl/dino lover deep down inside squealed with delight at the sight. I want one of those beautiful crested males so bad! What have I done by opening myself up to the world of reptile/amphibian ownership?
