See from what I've learned talking to a breeder of DRMB's they aren't easy to get started on rodents. They like to start on anoles and then you have to scent and all that. I'd love to breed them but I need to figure out where on earth I'm going to get Anoles from?
Haven't ever been to Louisiana, but I know 3 states over from you and one down they run free like the wind. When me and my family went down to Disney this year me and my boys tried to catch some they're just to fast... Next Disney trip I'm packing a butterfly net.

I would suggest picking up a couple at petco or petsmart Neal. They're like 4 bucks a piece up here in PA, not sure on availability/pricing near you. They're so cheap that I have never even seen them at a reptile expo now that I think about it.
