    you can get one thermostat which controls two heat sources.

    If you can dish out a little more money initialiity, you will be much happier in the long run. i'd recommend herpstat 2 or vivarium electronics VE-200.

    If you are firm on getting cheap thermostats, I'd recommend hydrofarm, ranco, big apple...


    You can use what you want as long as it's controlled. I use ultratherm heat pads(which are very thin like heat tape but don't get as hot even on full power) for my enclosures, and i use heat tape for my rack system.
