    Honestly, if your snake is climbing all day, that's a sign of insecurity in the animal. He's looking for hiding places. If you have enough cover, a 40 is fine, as my boy's in a 40-gal with two hides with no issues as all, but ball pythons shouldn't be spending a lot of time cruising. If he is you'll need to provide more cover and clutter for him to hide in.

    These guys actually rarely leave the location they were born in more than just a mile, and that's being generous. They're also nocturnal, so if your ball is regularly roaming during the day, he doesn't feel safe.
