first i will start with the not so great news. my snake shed but it was not complete. im getting the humidity thingie at walmart right away. i spent an hour and a half of soaking him and rubbing off the rest of the skin so hes fully shed now. hes so pretty looking! he used to be more green but now hes a shade of gold. now for the great news. buddy ate his first mouse! i was dangiling it in front of him and he lifted his head to smell it. i was so excited! he was actually paying attention to the mouse! then he lowerd his head and started moving towards me, i was getting really dissapointed but then once again i wiggled the tongs and BAM!!!!!! he knocked that mouse right out from the tongs. then he constricted and started swallowing but he had the mouse by the leg so i let go of the mouse and moved in towards its head and got it again. i had to leave but when i came home i couldnt find the mouse in the cage so i figured the snake swallowed it. YAY

Makes you feel like a proud parent when they shed, poo, and eat for you. Kinda strange.....

Awsome sounds like your doing a good job with him. Just dont be discouraged if he turns down food from time to time. And good idea getting the thermometer/hygrometer from wal mart. VERY good idea.

Congrats on the first feeding! To me, there's nothing more rewarding in this hobby, than watching your own snakes eating. It lets you know that you're doin' something right!! do you feed live or thawed? I am thinking that you feed prekilled or thawed because you said you used tongs. Congratulations
-Jen. Back in the hobby after a hiatus!
