Undertank Heater?
I'm looking for a good undertank heater. Even with a thermostat, my hotspots cant get over 78. Any good UTHs that can be found for relatively cheap (under $20)?

What is your substrate? How thick is it?

Zoo med and Zilla make nice ones. I know that the zillas are $18 here.

They are kept in lock-lid tubs and I use paper towels as the substrate. They are usually two sheets in thickness.
One has a Zilla, and it did GREAT in its first few weeks of use, but now it's just as bad as the cheap one. :/

I'm using fluker's, seems to work fine. Just need to get foil tape to tape on.

Ohh, that's odd, what is the ambient temp of the tubs? 78 (or more) would probably be my reading if my UTHs broke altogether, maybe they stopped working?

They still work-ish. I still feel heat from them. If the hotspot is around 78, I would guess the ambient to be about 73-74? I don't know. I keep my sensors at the hotspot since that's where they spend most of their time.
