One of my female BP's showed some strange aggression when I was palpating for follicles. She struck at me the stayed ready to strike. I am no stranger to breeding BP's or having aggressive females but she has never struck at me before. My females have never become aggressive during ovulation but I'm guessing my palpating set off a maternal instinct the likes of which I have only seen in my females when I remove them from a clutch. This is strange for me but maybe someone might be able to clarify. She shouldn't be close to laying as I believe her last shed would have been her peer lay shed, and I thought she may have absorbed her follicles.
