Get the morph I prefer, or the one thats more useful?
Early next year I'm going to be looking for a 2 gene male, since a calico bumble bee is out of my price range. I love the look of lesser bees, BUT I will be getting a male lesser in a few weeks. I don't have calico or spider in my collection, but I'm honestly not a big fan of most caliders, especially when compared to lesser bees (or any morph with lesser in it).
So it comes down to having two males that have lesser in them, or having a lesser and another male that gives me two genes I don't have. Since I'm starting out, I think the latter is a better idea in regards to building a collection...but lesser bees are so pretty and I'm not going to get my hands on a female one for a while.

You could always pick up a female spider for fairly cheap, then make your own lesser bees if you have your heart set on them. Granted, you'll have to wait quite a bit to have a breeding size bee... But that's the nature of the game

My recommendation is to go with the animal you prefer. Lesser bee's are nothing to laugh at, they're are two (In my opinion) cannot do without genes. Get what you like and work your breeding plans around it. Bumblebees aren't the strongest double gene combo around, in fact it may be the weakest but I always wanted one and whether he is going to be a prized breeder or not, he will find away into my plans.
