Help! She escaped!
I've had my bp for almost ten months now and I've noticed she's escaped about an hour ago. This has never happened to me before. I've checked under and inside tight spaces and she's no where to be found.
Also i have a dog and cats, should i be worried?

Depends on the size of your dogs and cats, and maybe the last time you fed her. Is she in a room that is closed off, or could she be anywhere in the home. Are you in a house or Apt? I would start checking in warm dark spots.

Absolutely... Cats love killing/eating snakes. Dogs, too (sometimes).

Look around places that give off heat, under or behind your microwave or refrigerator, around the water heater, behind a computer, etc. I have also heard of people finding their snakes in places they never thought they'd be able to reach, such as in the top of a closet.

You didn't teach it to come when called?
Search the forum for previous escape threads, we have a ton with alot of great ideas on how to find it. Usually it seems they are found when not even looking for them in a strange place.

Re: Help! She escaped!
Anytime mine escaped, I just followed the walls. I had my enclosures in a single room that the door was always shut, and I followed the walls and ALWAYS found them nearby (usually under the chair mat I had for my desk). They never went far, no more than 8 feet from their enclosure. Just know that even if you looked really hard 10 times, it'll probably be the 11th you find them.

You make it sound as if this has happened several times. How do you let that happen?

Re: Help! She escaped!
Unfortunately it did, twice in the first month I had my first snake. Despite having screen clips, he still got out once. So I added more screen clips (had five on a 20 gal) and he got out a second time. He was then moved to a "snake proof" enclosure I built. I don't really feel like I "let" it happen considering I was doing everything I thought I was supposed to be doing with a single snake in a glass terrarium.

I'm glad you upgraded your security. He sounds crafty.
