Re: Question about breeding morphs
Fire and pastel would give you a shot at a firefly. :-)
1.0 LB Hypo het. Trans Bearded Dragon-Dega
0.1 Normal Ball Python-Semira
1.0 Pied Ball Python-Sabien
En route: 0.1 Spotnose 100% het. Pied

This is a very vague question, and very much dependent on personal preference/opinion. My suggestion is to go to www.worldofballpythons.com and play with the genetic calculator. Throw together some morphs you like/can afford and see what you can pop out. Have fun with it, and remember: What is a super sweet combo to some, is drab and bottom of the list to others. Do / make / buy what makes YOU say "wow!"

Re: Question about breeding morphs
I really like pin stripes, bumblebees, and mutations along those lines. Pastels are cool to. Love high white pieds but will be awhile before I have cash for a pied

300 and under opens the door to quite a lot.
you could get a lemonblast (pinstripe + pastel) and a bee (spider + pastel) for, if you go to reptile expos and keep yourself informed, each under 300.
that gives you chances for stuff like spinner blast (spider pinstripe pastel), killer bee (super pastel + spider), killer blast (super pastel + pinstripe), and the jackpot would be the 4-hit killer spinner (super pastel + pinstripe + spider). And also chances for more bees, more lemonblasts, and super pastels. Chances to produce a normal would be 1 in 16, just as low as the chances of hitting the jackpot, the killer spinner.
its just one example, for 300 maximum per ball python you have a lot of options. I mean, a lot of two-gene options. i just picked the most obvious ones, that would lead to a nice and diverse clutch if you have a success with breeding. there are other options as well.

Re: Question about breeding morphs
if you like pieds, you can get a pair of hets for less than that. A year ago I got 2 female hets for 200 and he threw in a male het for free. (sold off the male cheap, raising up the females)
for the most bang for your buck, find a female het pied now, wait a year, then see what male hets or male pieds are going for. They will be cheaper to buy a year later, and still likely ready to bread when the female is.
heck if you are close I'd give you an adult male het for pied for like $20 (sold to me as that, but I never proved, and now have a male pied). Nothing wrong with him, I just have a replacement, oh and he is mean

Now are you talking about buying adults or babies cuz there is a big price difference in females. A pastel female baby may cost you $125. but an adult female is going to cost you $400.

Spider x Pastel = Bumblebee
Pastel x Pinstripe = Lemonblast
Those are two awesome morphs.
