if you like pieds, you can get a pair of hets for less than that. A year ago I got 2 female hets for 200 and he threw in a male het for free. (sold off the male cheap, raising up the females)
for the most bang for your buck, find a female het pied now, wait a year, then see what male hets or male pieds are going for. They will be cheaper to buy a year later, and still likely ready to bread when the female is.
heck if you are close I'd give you an adult male het for pied for like $20 (sold to me as that, but I never proved, and now have a male pied). Nothing wrong with him, I just have a replacement, oh and he is mean
