Refused feed
I just got my 1 month old BP, and she came with a 12 day old pinky, which I attempted to feed tonight. It would have been her first feed at home, but she didn't take it. She's young so I'm a little worried, when should I offer again? I'm picking up some fuzzies for her tomorrow, but I'm worried I'll have worse luck with a large sized prey. Any tricks? I just dangle it in front of my 1 yr old BP and she strikes, so I did the same thing, but it was a no-go. I took her hide off of her, should I not have?
I should add that it was a f/t pinkie which she's been on until now.

To be honest, while I'm a little worried given her size, I'm also super impatient, I was really hoping she would feed tonight so I could start holding her tomorrow or the next day. She's adorable and it's killing me to not be able to take her out lol.

A fuzzy should be fine for her. I wouldn't have moved the hide off of her. Most of the time my balls are fed whilst in a hide, unless they're waiting at the front of the tub lol. Patience better be your best friend I say wait another week or at least a few days before another attempt.

Ok, she was apparently fed every 4 days, so I guess I should wait that long? She kinda looks thin to me? Like her skin is wrinkled and her body is kinda concave on the belly nearer the tail, is that normal in babies? the breeder said she was 100g but I haven't weighed her myself.
I guess I just want to know when I should start worrying and if she won't eat when do I take the next step, and what is it? I was so hoping she would be super easy to feed lol.

Kind of strange she looks thin if she was fed every 4 days... You can definitely stick to that schedule. I fed every 5 days when mine were smaller. I wouldn't start to worry until she hasn't eaten for a month or so, or if she starts losing weight. Do you know if this is her first f/t meal? Hopefully once she has some time to settle in, she'll eat like a champ for ya.
On the wrinkly skin, she's probably going to shed soon. What's her setup like? Hides? Temp and humidity?
Oh yeah, and send pics if you have them!

I guess I don't really know what thin looks like in a baby, but she does have wrinkled looking skin when she's bent. She was fed f/t from the get go, and apparently did just fine and hasn't ever been fed live. She was just dropped into a completely different habitat though. She was in a tub with her clutchmates and no hide on newsprint before and now she's in a glass enclosure with aspen bedding and hides. I have the 3 of 4 walls covered and the hides are snug fitting.
Do I just keep offering every 4 days for a month before trying something else, or should other steps (live feeds etc) be taken before then? Is there any point in leaving the dead rat in the enclosure on paper towel or something? Might she eat it even though it's dead and not moving, of she's alone in the dark?
The only pic I have is my avatar. I don't want to take her out to get pics and risk stressing her more.
Her temps are roughly 90 on the warm side (UTH) and 80-83 on the cool side. She's mostly just hung out in the warm hide. Humidity is 50%.

Refused feed
I just went through this whole thing so hopefully I can help in some way. My little guy was 160 when I got him 08/20/13 and he was born 6/8/13 and had only eaten 6 times before he was sent to me. (Never knew he was fed live so I had to switch him to f/t but anyway!) he wouldn't eat for me for a month and only lost a couple grams and took his first meal for me today.
So some questions for you would be are you feeding him rats or mice? Because I've discovered my guy is a mouse eater. I offered him rats but he didn't take them so when I switched to mice he took it immediately.
Also how are you preparing the rodents for him? Because I have to prepare his mouse a different way than my other snake to get him to eat. I have to leave his mouse under a heat lamp for a couple minutes until it is hot.
My last question would be how are you offering the rodents to him? Some snakes take the rodent when you dangle it by the tail, some take it when you do the "zombie dance" so make the rodent look alive. But I've learned with my little guy that those options don't really work with him. I have to drag the mouse around on the substrate of his tank to make it look like the mouse is walking around, with my other snake I just hold the rat above the substrate where it's floating around and wiggle it in front of her and she takes it immediately. But when I tried this method with my little guy it scared him to where he didn't want to eat. So sometimes you really have to figure out feeding for a new snake because it varies. But don't worry too much he will eat for you soon enough. We're going to help you out as much as we can.

If I have a refusal, I'll leave it in overnight. I've had my pin take it over the night sometimes, other times he leaves it altogether. The month thing is just a generalization. If she starts looking really bad in a week, it might be time to take action. Or who knows, she might go for 2 months without losing a gram. It's different for all snakes that go off feed. You just need to use your best judgement. But you've only had her for a day, correct? No need to start freaking out just yet

Refused feed
Sorry I called it him that whole post I kinda forgot if it was a boy/girl once I started typing. But my little guy got a little wrinkly too when he wasn't eating but don't worry about that too much either. As long as she is drinking water and peeing it means she is hydrated. Make sure her enclosure is nice and humid to so she won't be dehydrated. But as long as she's drinking you'll be okay. You probably won't catch her drinking from the water bowl when you see pee in there than you know

Forgot to ask, but are you sure she's a month old and has had her first shed? And do you happen to know how many times she's eaten for the breeder?
