My Husband Is Going to Be on Sons of Guns!

Since the hubby is almost home I can let folks know what's been going on for the past week.

A week ago Friday we got a call from a fellow firearm manufacturer asking if my husband would be interested in appearing on the Discovery Channel show Sons of Guns. Ummmmmmmm... Hell yeah!

Here was the kicker; he would have to leave first thing Saturday morning and he would be gone for just over a week. OH CRUD I had to work this past week at my day job (federal fiscal year end) so things got a little crazy at home with having to work my day job and do everything for the gun business in the evenings.

So yes, he went and now that he will be back in a few hours I can say where he went. I have no idea what they did for this episode, just that he had a great time, it involved lots of shooting and stuff blowing up, and they want him back for an episode next season as well. We've been told 2-6 months before it airs to get all of the editing done.

Oh and he did say do not believe everything you see on tv, the vast majority of the drama is faked. The folks on the show get along fine in real life. He thought they were all great to work with.

Re: My Husband Is Going to Be on Sons of Guns!

I am somewhat conflicted about S.O.G.'s I love the fact that guns are becoming more mainstream...but.

As an NRA ccw pistol instructor and tactical combat firearm LEO trainer, I see many students expecting the whole reality TV based expectation of firearm handling.
While the SOG's show is, for the most part, a lot of drama and fun filled mayhem. The reality is, guns are designed to kill and destroy and if I may use the euphemism, they are as deadly as any venomous reptile.

I agree bcr229. I was really enjoying the show until they stayed making the "reality" style drama. The show was entertaining enough without trying to make it a soap opera.

I do still watch it but I fast forward the drama.
