    "Yawning"

My ball python about once a week withing 24-36 hrs of when he is usually fed starts opening his mouth, looking like he is yawning. I guess thats the only way i know how to describe it. He opens his mouth all the way. Now Xavier has done a similar thing once, Him and I have a good connection, I'm the one who takes care of him most of the time, and holds him out of his cage, and he did a similar mouth opening towards my boyfriend one day when he went to hug me. but it was no where near the day we feed him. Can anyone help explain what Xavier is doing??

    A few options:

    He is yawning

He is locking and unlocking his jaw

He has a splinter in his mouth or a funky tooth
