I am really interested in getting a snake, and am just doing research right now. Hopefully by spring i will be ready for something.
During the winter our house is about 65*F. The snake room has the vents closed off and we run a space heater on a t-stat to keep it at 76*F ambient, with each species getting a UTH (or heat tape in a rack) set appropriately for the hot spot. Summertime we run the AC at 78*F.
