How long to wait after a failed feeding?

Hey all, I kind of bungled the feeding last night and my snake didn't end up taking her rat.

Should I try again today, or wait a few days to stimulate some real hunger before another attempt? I actually ripped the rat with my hemostats, so it got a little gory in there, and I'm sort of figure I should get all the rat-gore smell out of there before I introduce another feed.

Unless your animal is on a hunger strike and losing weight, just wait until your next scheduled feeding. Ball pythons skip meals. Nothing to worry about. If it doesn't ever miss a meal then it will be HUNGRY by the next feed and you will see it attack with much voracity. I have 3 and it seems only 2 want to eat each week. It's like they take turns deciding who isn't gonna eat week in week out.

Dont bother today as it could just stress your snake out. Offer again on its next scheduled feeding day.

Leave it completely alone for a week. Don't handle or bother it and then try feeding again next week.

Typically I wait 3 days to a week, it all depends on the snake. If it's snake I know will eat, but I messed up, I'll only wait 2 or 3 days.

If u dont care about wasting a meal you could try the next day . I did that 3 times and it worked twice . But waiting until the next feeding day is what most people seems to be doing . Now that I know better my little guy I learned that he doesnt like the zombie dance so I just put the rat in front of the hide hes in for a few second then I just leave it in the middle of the terrarium and he comes out pretty quick . Never had a problem since I started this way . But they are all different . Just gotta find the right way with yours .
