How to tell between an enchi and a banded normal?

Well my next addition will be a female enchi. And I'm kinda confused as how to tell between and enchi and a banded normal. I know the color can be an indicator, but sometimes it's hard to tell. So does anybody have a clear cut way to tell the difference? I don't want to drop 300+ on a female enchi and get a normal

Easy peasy, Don't buy an enchi that looks like a normal

If it ain't got the gold, it ain't worth the dough. (I was hoping to think of something that rhymed...but that failed miserably.)

To clarify: Enchi is both a pattern AND color morph, if it doesn't have BOTH, it doesn't deserve a second glance

I'm sure you're expecting this response, but if it looks like a banded normal why drop your hard earned money on it in the first place? A good quality Enchi will look nothing like a normal.

Edit: See ^^^^^^? Rosey beat me to it.

Haha you guys are crazy. So does an enchi have a lot of gold? I've never seen one in person so I'm not sure!

Look at this thread, the first 2 picture links. That, is a quality enchi. See the difference?

We're on the same wavelength tonight. I was typing a response that included this very link, but out of habit refreshed the OP to see if anyone beat me to it.

Haha, nothing wrong with that! Be careful bouncing around on my wavelength though, things can get a little out of hand sometimes

Re: How to tell between an enchi and a banded normal?

Honestly, Jake, if you're using the WOBP examples of Enchis as your baseline, I wouldn't buy over half of the examples of the morph on there (no offense to those breeders lucky enough to have their animals used as models). There are much better quality Enchis to be found on these forums.

Here's a thread that was useful to me when I was looking for my girl: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...2430-Enchi-Q-s

Okay awesome, thank you Eric. Like I said I've never seen one in person, and I know pictures can be decieving so I've never been 100% sure what a TRUE enchi looks like. But all of the links y'all have provided have helped tremendously.

I hadn't seen one in person before I got mine either. As a rule, they ALWAYS look better in person. If you love them on the computer screen, your jaw will hit the floor when you first open the snake bag (with pretty much any quality morph, not just Enchi). My wife tolerates me when I show her pictures online, but loves to go to shows with me to see for herself because of this fact.
