Just thought I'd share. Zephyr is preparing for his first shed in my care. Note the telltale grey-blue eyes. My little boy is growing up!

He is a very neat snake, Judy. Pictures don't do him justice. He's very iridescent, and his belly is a little more orange than it looks in the photo. He feels like a silk cord when I'm holding him and he's running through my fingers and up my arm. I wish I had more photos to share, Marla, but the little guy is almost never still, so he makes it really difficult to get good shots of him. I keep trying though. I'll post them when I have them.

I'll do my best, Beagle. By the way, I'm with Marla - your avatar is too funny. James Brown is the hardest working man in . . . a bathrobe.

I'll try not to hold it against you. Seriously, though, he's a cool-looking little guy. Maybe you need to make videos of him to get stills from.

Make sure the humidity is nice and high for your lil guy so he can have a good shed. Aspen isn't really the best substrate to keep high-humidity snakes on because it molds easily when wet and this of course can cause several health problems. IMO the best way to go about this would be a newspaper or paper towel base substrate and then an appropriately-sized moist hide box (I use an old, but clean butter tub for my Savu) filled with moist sphagnum moss.
