    Rack Building for "Dummies"

So, the setup we have for our babes is getting a bit impractical now, so I'm looking into saving myself some $ on buying one and just building a rack myself.
As a nurse, I can dole out meds and injections like nobody's business, but when it comes to building anything....yeah, you can imagine. So I'm looking for someone who wouldn't mind taking some time & posting a step by step, detailed way of building a rack, installing the heat tape etc. What materials are best. The whole 9 yards. Pictures/Video are definitely welcome lol.

I currently have 6 snakes & will be adding another in september. 2 are in 37Q tubs and 4 are in 28Q. I'm wanting a rack that I can have them all in. Could I upgrade the ones in the 28Q tubs into 37-42Q if they're in a black rack? It's essentially a self-made hide, is it not?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

    Re: Rack Building for "Dummies"

You can put any size ball in a 41q rack, babies just need a lot more hides. They do after all survive in the wild. It's more a matter of making them feel safe. A baby in a 41 quart should be cluttered with cover. It's enough for an adult female and more than enough for a baby/sub adult. So if you have to have one rack go big so you won't have to build another one. As for rack instructions there are plenty in the diy forum. They're mostly explained in pretty good detail. There is a pretty simple one that involves a plastic shelving unit from home dept. That's prefect for someone not well versed in carpentry.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to the thread about the Home Depot Shelving Unit Rack? I saw it before but I haven't been able to find it. Would appreciate it. Thanks
