I can't help but be really worried :(

I posted previously about my "picky gecko." Well, she still hasn't eaten. She has some discoloration visible through her belly that really concerns me. There is so much misinformation and contradicting information online, so I'm hoping you guys can give me clarity. I have some people telling me these areas indicate parasites, liver failure, etc. and others saying it's just her organs visible through translucent skin. I was always able to see through my previous gecko and he was fine, so now I'm just confused.

She's been to the vet and was prescribed Panacur for potential parasties and Baytril for bacteria (I read about the issues with baytril wiping out the good bacteria, but her dose is quite minute). Since she hasn't been eating on her own, I've been giving her Reptaboost every morning and she appears to be keeping that down well. Her poo is green and gooey, nothing solid at all, but she has been producing waste consistently every night. I'm hoping to bring in a sample for testing on Thursday.

Anyway, here is a shot of her belly...Any ideas, advice, stories from experience, ways to get her eating?? Anything? I don't want to lose her!

I've been keeping and breeding a few Leopards for about 20 years and I haven't experienced anything that looks like that. It's not normal. With the weird stools and loss of appetite, I'd say you and your vet are doing the right thing. The stool sample is a really good idea. I could very well give you your answer. I have no experience with an adult not eating, but with hatchlings that were stubborn I put a small cricket in front of them with tweezers, sort of like tease feeding. I'm sorry I couldn't alleviate your fear, Mary, but I do think your doing the right things. Good luck!

I agree. You did good by going to the vet. The translucent skin/organs thing looks nothing like that.
I hope you can get her to eat and get her back to good health!

Ugh :/ not the answers I was hoping for, but that you so much for the information. I've tried holding worms in front of her face and she'll either ignore them or lick at them, but she never takes them. Hopefully the meds will help :/ The good news is, she's still feisty and active!

I did get her from Petco and she came in already sick thanks to our crappy distributor (they're more like animal manufacturers!)

Are you dusting with Repashy? Mine aren't picky, but on the days that I dust with repashy they RUN to the bowl!

Yup, and she has a bowl of just the Repashy powder in there as well. There are footprints in it, but that doesn't mean she's licking at it necessarily. I'm still doing the liquid diet, but I'll try offering worms again this weekend. Thank you SO much

Well, her fecal exam came back negative for any parasites or anything, soooo now I'm at a loss for why she isn't eating! Her stool has been progressively getting more solid, so perhaps it's just the panacur doing it's job. She had already taken 4 doses by the time her stool sample went in. I've moved her on to getting waxworms through a syringe (in addition to the Reptaboost supplement), but she's quite fed up with syringe feeding and meds, so she's not cooperating as well. Hopefully these are all signs that she may be ready to eat on her own. I'll try some dusted worms in there and I'll thrown in a couple crickets tonight.

Any other suggestions??
