best size for a first?

While I figure out what type of cage fit's the best for my home, I also need to consider the size of the snake to properly size the tub, or tank.
I was told that a baby is best for a beginner.
Is this true?
I don't really have a preference, just wanting to know I'm not setting myself up for more headake than necessary.
I thought an older snake, who has a well established feeding habbit would be the best for a beginner, but everyone talks about how BP's can be problem feeders...

Well, if you buy a baby ball python you cannot know for sure how the feeding habits will look like further on. I would start with a well-started ball python (about 600grams or so) who has a good feeding history.

You can get a baby, but you want to make sure it's well started on feeding. Ask the person a lot of questions. They have several amazing breeders on here that well start their females before they sell them. One of those people is Andybill who I'm getting my female lemonblast from. He wanted to make sure she had a good 6-7 meals and took f/t before he sent her that way whoever gets her has the option.
