    Hatching - right on time!

Well, this clutch really couldn't have been more perfect. Nerissa gave me seven beautiful eggs with no slugs, and now they're pipping exactly on day 55. Not only that, but for the THIRD year I've had babies hatch on my brother's birthday (Aug 24th) - so there's something lucky about this date, lol. I'm also going out of town next weekend, so very relieved they didn't decide to be a week late!

I cut the eggs tonight after seeing the first pipper, and a few look like they're still coloring up... it's "just" a normal x pastel clutch, but it seems I've got at least three pretty pastels. Anyway, here's a sneak peek:

    Purple pastel pipper

    Cute normal nose

Pastels, or just not colored yet?

Haha That is awesome! Yes those look like pastels besides the obvious normal.

I had the same thing happen to me 2 years in a row. Last year it was my sisters sons birthday, they hatched on the same day he was born. This year it was my moms birthday, they pipped their heads her birthday morning. She was so thrilled.

Congrats on the clutch. Let us see some more pictures once they've emerged

Yeah, they look for SURE like pastels now! The one at the bottom is huge, too... I'll post a few pics later (at work now), but he is seriously gigantic for a new hatchling. He also has a super light purple head, so I'm anxious to see him out of the egg.

I'm always fascinated by repeating dates and numbers, and feel like there's something to it... I guess we just have our lucky hatching days, huh? They probably won't all be out for a few days, but I will definitely post more photos when they do emerge fully.

Three of the babies are out, and the other four are still camping in their eggs... but I've gotten a good look at everyone now, and the final tally is:

    5 Pastels
    2 Normals

I know it's nothing "exciting" in the world of morphs, but they're my first pastels - and the odds were totally on my side! Looking forward to seeing the other four, when they finally make their grand arrivals.
