humidity problem . need some advice
So heres what my setup looks like . I have a fogger and a red heat light plugged into a thermostat . The heat is fine . Red light goes on and off . But the fogger bring the humidity at 55 then stop and start again once its at 50 . Takes 2 and a half minute for the humidity to drop 5 degrees so the fogger keep going on and off . I dont really like it because it will probably die sooner than it should and when its going thru the screen its making water drops so I have to put a bowl underneath if I dont want the aspen to be all wet . So I could use a magic trick to keep the humidity more stable witouth having the fogger going on every 2 minutes .
Thanks
Sébastien
And if I dont say it ppl will tell me . So yes I have a heat mat plugged into a thermostat too .

What is the temp of your heatmat set at? Also how are you measuring your temperature. If you're using a probe, where is the probe at?

My heatmat is at 90 . And for the ambient temperature and humidy the probe is on top of the aspen in the middle rear left side . I added a cheap temp and humidity gage in the middle and an analog thermometer on the left side in case my thermostats fails someday .

If it were me I'd raise the heatmat to 93-95 which won't cause any burns, that will help you raise your temperature. Plus it'll make on top of the aspen a bit warmer so you can turn down your lights which will help you raise your humidity. Also misting would probably help you more then that fogger. Also the best way to honestly check your temps is to get an infrared temp gun and shoot the top of the substrate.

I bought the fogger because I dont want to mist a few times every day . And I feel like looking all the time to make sure humidity is ok if the fogger is off . The heat mat is actually at 93 . I was telling the temperature on top of it . And my light is on most of the time . It turns off for a few minutes maybe once or twice per hour . Its a 75 watts . I tried a ceramic heat emitter 150 watts thinking it will heat the enclosure faster and be off most of the time so the humidity would be better but it was worst ... fogger was on and off every minute :/

Then you honestly need to get a rack system or one of the animal plasic cages. Aquarium in general nail humidity. Even that exo-terra.

One other thing you can try is putting ceran wrap over the parts that the light doesn't shine over. Just make sure it doesn't get hot. That should help you a little. Maybe cover the complete right side.

Hello,
Your main issue is actually the location of the fogger tube.
change 2 things
1) Go to a local hardware store and buy a tube that is the same diameter, but is smooth. The issue with the tube that comes with the fogger is that it traps moisture, and then it becomes less efficiant.
2) Put the fogger so that it enters the tank on the cool side. By putting it so close to your heat source, most of the water is leaving before it even enters the tank. The heat itself does evaporate the water, yes, but there are other factors at play. The hot air is actually causing an updraft, as if there was a fan pointing up and out of the tank. So some of the vapour actually gets "blown" out of the tank simply by the heated air.
I have posted a fix that you can use, in fact you have most of the elements anyways. take a look at it:
