    HELP! I need some input.

I have a year and a half year old male spider. I left to stay in New York for the weekend and when I came back I noticed that Indy was "sneezing" It sounds like he has a stuffy nose and he's done a few little snake sneezes that are kind of whistly. These symptoms had to have happened in the last few days while I was gone and I and worried about a resp infection. I haven't noticed any mucus or anything around his mouth or nose but I do hear A kind of popping noise like when your stomach makes noise when youre gassey. he has some stuck shed around his right eye and nose. other then that he has been eating regularly and acting normal. I do have my vet picked out and I am ready to make an apt tomorrow if necc.

Yeah, the occasional whistle, or even frequent whistle with nothing else isn't what worries me. It's probably just the stuck shed around his nose. I have 2 bp's that whistle all the time, and are healthy as horses. The 'popping' sound really really worries me, though. That doesn't sound right. I'm gonna say vet time.

I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill here. But I would rather be safe then sorry. I would rather spend 50 some dollars on a vet visit then have Indie get really sick and possibly die. I'm going to check and see if he's making anymore bubbly noises tomorrow morning, because he stopped making any sneezing sounds or snotty nose sounds after about 5-10 minutes of handling.

Have you tried looking in his mouth for mucous? Like Anya said, it could just be some stuck shed making the wheezing noise.

The popping is what worries me the most, and if it will make you feel better, take him to the vet.

Please be sure that they do a culture though before prescribing antibiotics!

I looked into his mouth and no mucus at all. ALso I pulled away some of the stuck shed around his mouth and nose and I haven't heard any noises since. I'm still keeping a close eye on him, but he hasn't made any sneezy noises or hiccups since last night.

Glad to hear it. Just keep an eye on him, and use your judgement.
