    In this case since it is a provincial law regarding these animals. So, there is little reasonable excuse for not knowing about it. And, a permit would have taken care of the whole mess this is a case of human idiocy pure and simple.
    I think the law is as dumb as the day is long. Not because education or ability shouldn't be considered in who keeps these animals but, because the government as usual is inept at actually providing this service.

    EDIT: Good thing I now own African Gartersnakes(at least that is what I am claiming they are) which so closely resemble Ball Pythons that they can interbreed. Because at this rate every python and boa will soon be illegal.
