Looking for feedback on this Fall's Pairings

    Hi Guys,

I'm still somewhat new to ball python breeding, I am mostly still growing some of my animals out. This past year the only eggs I have are from bee x pastel and I am halfway through incubation.

I'm hoping to have a bigger year coming up since more of my animals are up to size. I wanted to get some feedback on my planned pairings.

    Breedable Males:
    1.0 Kingpin Pastel
    1.0 Bumble Bee het Piebald
    1.0 Pewter
    1.0 Albino
    1.0 Mojave

    Breedable Females:
    0.3 Piebalds
    0.1 Albino
    0.2 Bumble Bees
    0.2 Pastels
    0.1 Mojave
    0.1 Super Blast
    0.1 Lesser Champagne
0.1 Pewter Pin *Borderline weight, may or may not make it
0.1 Pastel Calico *Borderline weight also

    So here are my plans:

    1.0 Kingpin Pastel x 0.2 Bumble Bees, 0.1 Lesser Champagne, 0.1 Mojave, 0.2 Pastels
1.0 Bumble Bee Het Piebald x 0.3 Piebalds
    1.0 Pewter x 0.1 Super Blast, 0.1 Pewter Pin
    1.0 Albino x 0.1 Albino

Do you guys see any better combos? Looks like the Kingpin may have his work cut out for him. Thanks

Thanks, yea I was thinking of backup plans also, as we know its not a given a certain male will be in the mood. Maybe one of the bee's will be "shared". Thanks

My opinion only, but I would not use your Kingpin Pastel with the Lesser Champ or Mojo since the supers are white & over ride any pattern or color.

If it were me, I would use the Albino male with the Lesser Champ to get some Hets. The Lesser Albino just might be the best looking Albino combo right now. The Champ Albino is pretty sharp as well. You have the Albino female to use with a male Lesser Champ Het male should you get one.

I would use the Kingpin Pastel with the Albino female. Same reason as above.

I would also use one of the Female Pieds to make Het Pieds. Gives you some options for female hold backs for future use & to keep your best male combo Het since you have 3 adult female Pieds.

    Thanks,

One of my goals was to hatch my own BEL (instead of buying one), so I was hoping to get one out of the kingpin pairings but you have a valid point about the white snakes covering up pattern/color combos. I do have a champagne het albino female sub adult that I hope is ready next season.
