So, I'll revisit two things.
1) Relocation should be done by someone who knows how to handles HOTs. Not Jo Blow citizen. I've seen plenty of videos of people who thought they knew what they were doing getting bit. Also, unless you are in a rural area already, where are you gonna relocate it to if you had the expertise? I live right next to a city park with a lake. Never seen a snake but if I saw a venomous one I would not just leave it be. Hundreds of people go through that park every day. I would feel real bad if I let it go and heard it bit someone later. Animal removal specialists aren't available everywhere. And most aren't free. So that's not always an option. And calling 911 will just get a cop out there who will probably just shoot the thing.
2) The whole laughter thing. This is where tolerance is needed. And really it would be hypocritical, at least for me, to make fun of the guy. Because I hate bugs being in my house (ants, roaches, flies, etc). I will kill them on site. I don't give a flying crap about what pain or suffering they might feel. And I'd probably think it amusing if a nearly dead roach started eating itself. And I tell ya, if I see a whole bunch of bugs in one spot, especially roaches, I will go batcrap crazy and start going on a mad killing spree usually accompanied by maniacal laughter. I am sure there is a bug lover community out there that has pet roaches and stuff that would have a similar reaction as some of you if they saw that.
That's my opinion on it.
