    Your Dream Reptile Room?

So, I know everyone has their dream Reptile Room/wall/space. I think it would be cool for everyone to post their dream reptile room, what they'd keep, how it would be designed, all that so everyone can steal ideas and all that in case one of us gets to do it in the future (I'm going to do mine once I have my own home).

My dream Reptile space is a ReptiWall. It will be 19 feet long x 7.75' tall x 2' wide, and will be home to 24 reptiles: 8 balls, 4 corns, 2 bearded dragons, 3 crested geckos, and 3 gargoyle geckos. The ball pythons will be: My normal female, Dallas (the champagne male I hope to pick up this year), a trio of piebalds, female yellowbelly, female blanchi, and a female banana pastel. Here's the front view I planned:

Each little square in the photo is 3" btw

I'll have the cages built on metal racks, one per row. the right/left/back walls will be particleboard or some other wood sealed and covered to prevent any water damage to it. I'll have vents in the top of the left and right walls to help with airflow. The top will be half wood, half heavy mesh so I can hang a light above it to light the cages. The front will be sliding heavy duty plexiglass doors with locks - thick enough doors to not break if a kid throws a football into it (I want sons someday so I want to make sure their shenanigans won't break the cages). I'll make a wooden frame for the outside, to make it look all nice and fancy. I'll paint the wood black or dark or something to match the furniture. On one of the side walls, I'll have a control panel hidden by a swinging door in the frame. In the control panel, I'll have a light timer to control all the lights, thermostats for the cages, and an automatic mister for the ball pythons and geckos. On two sides of the frame, I'll have little fans - like computer fans - to help blow air throughout the frame and improve airflow. All the wood on the frame will also be sealed so humidity won't affect it.

Of course, I'll have hatching racks around, as well as a large cage for the Burmese python I want... But this would be my dream.

Your turn! What would be your dream Room/Wall/Space?

My dream reptile room? Full Actually I hope to one day have a building for the ball pythons. However, in lieu of that off possibility, the man and I are looking at getting a 2 bedroom apartment we're getting in the winter so I can have a reptile room. That will be full of racks for my balls, an enclosure for our blue tongue skink, and enclosures for two red-tail boas. But we'll have other reptiles elsewhere in the house- a vivarium for cresties and one for a flying gecko in the living room, and maybe one for rhino rats should I find any- if not, then perhaps a red-tail rat.

Small scale, but I like to dream of the future I know I'll be getting. It lets me plan. (: As for the BIG dream in the BIG house, well... check in with me after we retire from the army in the very distant future. Otherwise, I won't be planting too thick of roots where there's no ground underneath.

As for who will be filling the ball racks, well, I have a check list, but with the spontaneous pick-ups (i.e. the pastel ghost and new normal girls), who knows

Very nice plan! I have to agree on the whole having a hard time with impulse buy problem haha, I'm slightly scared to go the reptile show in November. I hope to only come home with one snake, but who knows! I love seeing the awesome plans people come up with!

My dream reptile room? Oh goodness, I think I might go overboard here xD

I do plan on breeding some ball pythons in the future, but more on the small scale though. So of course several racks will be needed. Who knows, I might take up two rooms or make a small barn into a giant reptile room! I really also want to get some super dwarf retics, a Burmese, two carpets, a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, and who couldn't forget out little furry friends? One German Shepard and a nice jumping horse (since I do show jumping). Who knows, I might even want to breed some of those colubrids too!

Well, we'll just see how that will turn out, I need to focus on finsih ing high school first! Cx

When planning your "dream reptile room", remember to also plan your "rodent room", which will take more space and planning IMO.

Ball pythons, hoggies, gtps, garg geckos, and leachies. I want awesome display enclosures!

Oh, and a tegu! Too much work for me though. I'd love to, but I don't have the time .

MyEcho, Love that idea! I ride western myself, I'm hoping to get a shire someday! German Shepherds are also the second best breed of dogs! (I have to say my favorite is the Australian Kelpie, but it's a close race!)

Jaycee, Of course a rodent room is important, but this is just fun to put down your dream room!

h00blah, I know what you mean about Tegu's! I would love a Savannah monitor, but I don't know if I'll have that kind of time to put into them once I have my ReptiWall, hatchie racks, burmese, and misc reptiles scattered throughout the house.

coreydelong, I've been watching your thread! I can't wait to see the finished result - I'm majorly jealous!!
