If it were to me... It's simply a quick illustration of how even a minor event can make the news. As small and brief as this article may be it puts a lot of unwanted attention towards to the local reptile industry, especially when reference is made to the New Brunswick case.
If it were to the news article itself... this article is an easy sell and will gain quick publicity in light of the recent tragedy in Eastern Canada. Although it may not be front-page material any time a non-native species is captured in the 'wild' it will usually make some form of news whether it be a blog, column, webcast etc.
Personally, I prefer Ricky's article over the bunch.) and long floppy ears!!!! It was VERY disturbing. I thought about calling animal control but decided to run indoors instead! shrew close one!!!!
