are eye defects carried on from parents to children?

Hello,
I have heard of eye defects in BELs (super lesser/ super butter / lesser + butter) .. now what I am wondering is if the snakes with defected eyes make their babies have defected eyes too? so is it genetic from parents to baby? for instance if i pair a BEL male with defected eyes to a normal, will the offspring also have defected eyes? has anyone tried this?

I can't speak to this specific instance. I know with Kahl albino boas, one of the original animals passed on a gene for defective eyes. It was reduced, but not eliminated with outbreeding. It occurs more often when you breed Kahl albino x Kahl albino.

It probably depends on what country the eyes defected too.
