Even if I had roaches, I'd break into hysterical, panicked tears touching them. xD He didn't seem super interested in his worms or salad, but I know he's been stressed. He MIGHT have eaten a meal worm... alternatively, it could have just wiggled away somewhere by the time I returned. Thank you for the kind words and advice everyone, you've been such a big help. Today's focus / concern is working on getting the tar off his actual skin; his shell is looking great except some isolated, stubborn smears. I'm particularly trying to ponder how to get his head; q-tips aren't harsh enough to stand up to the tar so that's out. I've been trapping his little feet with a lathered sponge when I give him scrubs, and that gets some off, but not as much as I'd like. The only bits I've gotten off his head, I scratched off a layer of gunk off the very top of his skull with my thumb nail.
